Airlie Beach Race Week ..aka “The Tropical Shirt Regatta” began as Hogs Breath Race Week and the first regatta was sailed in 1990. The regatta name changed to Airlie Beach Race Week in 2006 and has continued to build on its past success and today attracts more than 100 yachts. The racing is well organized by the Whitsunday Sailing Club and whilst the yachting is competitive, there is an emphasis on fun with plenty of off the water entertainment. Airlie Beach Race Week is sailed on the waters of Pioneer Bay and around the Whitsunday Islands. You will sail in breezes around 10 to 25 knots in mostly sunny weather and temperatures in the mid 20’s. Airlie Beach Race Week is a significant winter Regatta in North East Queensland. So come on! Mark the dates on your calendar, grab your mates and schmooze your partner and boss for the time off. Email Yachting Events
